In March 2018, Austin John, who was born in Dallas, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault after allegedly attacking a woman outside a nightclub in Austin.

At the time, John said he was “outraged” and that he didn’t mean to hurt anyone.

Two months later, he was suspended by the NBA.

John was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery on a law enforcement officer.

In a statement, the league said it was aware of the case and would review the case.

John’s case has been referred to the Office of Professional Responsibility for investigation, the NBA said.

He was released from jail and returned to Dallas in 2018.
