We’ve had a few days to catch up on all the news of the NBA offseason, and it seems like there’s not much new to report, at least in terms of NBA teams.
Here are some highlights of the day.
On Friday, the Los Angeles Clippers announced they have traded All-Star forward DeAndre Jordan to the Houston Rockets for guard Shabazz Muhammad, a two-way center who is expected to compete for minutes in the second unit.
On Saturday, the Chicago Bulls acquired center Jerian Grant from the Sacramento Kings.
The deal was rumored to be a three-team deal, but Grant was not named in the deal.
The Minnesota Timberwolves traded point guard Josh Smith to the New York Knicks for forward Brandon Rush, a versatile big man who has averaged 10.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks over the last two seasons.
The Oklahoma City Thunder traded forward Joffrey Lauvergne to the Los Angles Clippers for center Anthony Morrow.
The move was reported to be two-for-one, but Morrow’s name was not mentioned in the trade.
The Boston Celtics announced that they have acquired forward Dwayne Bacon from the Philadelphia 76ers.
The team will receive $4 million in cash and $1.5 million in salary from the deal, which is effective immediately.
The Dallas Mavericks have acquired guard Brandon Ingram from the Houston Texans.
The acquisition will provide the Mavericks with $3.2 million in cap space, a significant amount of cap room to fill the roster, but it was not specified in the move.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have acquired point guard J.R. Smith from the Minnesota Timberwolves for point guard Austin Rivers, a five-year veteran with a proven track record.
Rivers played in 39 games for the Timberwolves this season, averaging 13.5 minutes per game, shooting 48.7 percent from the field, 37.4 percent from three-point range and 3.5 assists.
The Timberwolves also received a first-round draft pick in 2017 in return.
The Philadelphia 76s have acquired center Josh Richardson from the Dallas Mavericks for point guards Devin Harris and DeJuan Blair.
Richardson, who played for the Mavericks during the 2016-17 season, was averaging 8.4 points and 6.6 assists during his rookie season, but was traded to the Mavericks for guard James Johnson in the 2016 NBA Draft.
The Denver Nuggets have acquired shooting guard Tyler Ennis from the Los Angeles Clippers for guard Jordan Crawford, a 6-foot-6 guard who is coming off of a torn ACL in 2016.
Crawford played in 38 games for Denver this season averaging 8:52 minutes per contest.
The Chicago Bulls announced that forward Jerian Harris has been suspended for the remainder of the season for violating the team’s drug policy.
Harris was a first round pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics, but played just two games for Chicago this season.
Harris was suspended for five games this season after testing positive for a prohibited substance, and the NBA has imposed a 10-game suspension for the first time in Harris’ career.
Harris has been fined $10,000 for his suspension and is expected back in action soon.
